Under this form of government, the electedMunicipalityCommission sets the policies for the operation of the city’s government. The legalistic responsibility rests with theMunicipalityManager who is scheduled by theMunicipalityCommission. The PharrMunicipalityCommission is comprised of seven members made up of the Mayor and sixMunicipalityCommissioners. Box 1729 Pharr, TX   78577-1632 You may also contact the Mayor and members of theMunicipalityCommission via email at:                   [email protected]MunicipalityCommission Meetings: Regular Commission meetings are held at 4:00 p.m. on the first and third Monday of the month.  Special Commission meetings may be tabbed from time to time, provided that public notice is posted 72 hours prior to the meeting. Agendas: for the regular meetings and work sessions are posted the preceding week atMunicipalityHall and moreover on the City’s web site.  All notices are posted 72 hours prior to the meeting, in vibrations with the Chapter 551 of the Government Code, Vernon’s Texas Codes, Annotated (Open Meetings Act).  Agendas are posted on the web site as a courtesy and, from time to time, may not be misogynist due to technical difficulties.  The official posting site is on theMunicipalityCouncil BulletinWorkbenchlocated on the first floor inMunicipalityHall. Work Sessions: Work sessions are held as needed and public notice is posted 72 hours prior to the meeting.  These work sessions are set to discussMunicipalityissues, to provide information to the public and the Commission, and usually include briefings and presentations. Closed Sessions: A closed session may be convened at any time during the undertow of a regular meeting under Texas Government Code 551.071(2) to confer with its legal counsel on any subject matter of said agenda.  Should any final action, decision, or final vote be required in the opinion of theWorkbenchwith regard to any item discussed during the executive session, then such final whoopee shall be made during the unshut meeting covered by the notice of the meeting. Public Comments. (Ordinance No. O-2015-28) A registered speaker may speak on several items or topics of public concern; however, a speaker may not exceed three (3) minutes as a whole when addressing the board. A registered speaker may not donate time to flipside speaker. No increasingly than five (5) registered persons may speak at a scheduled meeting. A sign-in form must be filled out prior to the meeting to indulge the registered speaker to write the governing body. Once the meeting has started, theMunicipalityClerk will no longer winnow registrations. Visuals, if any, are due one hour surpassing the meeting. (email [email protected]) Public Hearing. (Ordinance No. O-2015-28) A person that received notice from the municipality on a pending item for consideration, and that may be positively adversely unauthentic physically, or to any other legally recognizable interest, may speak on a legally posted public hearing; however, a speaker may not exceed three (3) minutes when addressing the board. A sign-in form for participation in a public hearing must be filled out prior to the meeting to indulge the registered speaker to write the governing body. Once the meeting has started, theMunicipalityClerk will no longer winnow registrations. No registered speaker may be unliable to write the governing soul once the public hearing has closed. Visuals, if any, are due one hour surpassing the meeting.
